Terry Little enjoys a diverse practice of both transactional and litigation related matters in the firm’s Oxford, Mississippi office. With twenty years of legal experience, Terry’s experience runs deepest in defense litigation.
Terry joined the firm in 2018, having spent the vast majority of his career at a regional insurance defense firm. Terry’s extensive litigation experience is a valuable resource for the firm.
Terry has represented policyholders and national insurers in liability and coverage matters. Mr. Little has tried several cases to verdict and his practice area includes, but is not limited to, governmental liability, premises liability, products liability, transportation law, construction defects, professional liability, wrongful death and other catastrophic injury claims.
Prior to joining Harper Whitwell, Terry served as in house counsel at a regional energy corporation, was a partner in a regional insurance defense firm and operated a title company.

Representation of municipality in multi-party gas explosion wrongful death and severe burn case and obtained dismissal of client without any contribution.
Representation of school district in Section 1983 action in Federal Court. Dispositive motion granted for Defendant. Successfully defended appeal to 5th Circuit. Successfully defended writ of certiorari to U.S. Supreme Court.
Representation of regional food retailer in clear liability automobile accident. Plaintiff obtained jury verdict for less than defendant’s offer to settle.
Representation of insurance company’s insured in automobile accident subrogation case. Directed verdict for defendant.
